6.1.15: Finals Everywhere

Good Morning! Who’s excited about the NBA Finals starting off this week? We sure are! And what better way to kick off the excitement than by watching an adorable highlight reel of Stephen Curry’s adorable daughter Riley showing us that she’s the NBA’s real MVP at the post game press conference. Enjoy the cuteness!

The NBA Finals are here! Okay, almost here. Starting Thursday, the Eastern Conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers will face off against the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors. How did we get here? The Cavs beat the Atlanta Hawks in a 4-game sweep while the Dubs took care of business in 5 games against the Houston Rockets.

What are the main storylines to know heading into the action? Injuries. Both teams have been juggling injuries this post-season. The Cavs are without Kevin Love and are hoping to have Kyrie Irving and LeBron James at full-strength soon. The Warriors are hopeful that Klay Thompson will be ready to go after suffering a concussion in Game 5 against the Rockets.

What are the details?: Game 1, Thursday at 9pm on ABC — Cleveland at Golden State. Be there!

Welcome to the Stanley Cup Finals where we have an awesome match-up  between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning!

How did we get here? The Lightning beat the New York Rangers in a big Game 7 while the Hawks defeated the Anaheim Ducks to get to the finals.

Game 1 of the Finals hits the ice on Wednesday at 8pm on NBC.

Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals might currently be the home-run leader in the major leagues, but he is undecided on participating in the Home Run Derby.

In all things awesome, Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates made a couple of young fans’ days by giving them his batting gloves in a game over the weekend.

Justin Verlander is making his way back from an injury  but the Detroit Tigers’ pitcher struggled in his rehab start over the weekend in a Triple A game.

The French Open continues this week!

The women’s World Cup kicks off  on June 6 in Canada!

Lionel Messi is good — really, really, really good. Note his contributions to a big Barcelona victory over Athletic Bilbao over the weekend 3-1.

In other soccer news, Arsenal won their second consecutive FA Cup after defeating Aston Villa in the final, 4-0.
